Light Parade

The Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving we spent with Roudy's family the night of Ridges party we were able to head back to Gunnison and ride in the light parade.  Grandma constructed a float to be in the parade and the kids got to wear Santa hats and wave to all the people.  Ridge caught on about half way through that he was supposed to wave at all the people waving at him, it was pretty cute.  When we stopped  at the end of the parade we got to go see Santa and give him our letter of all the good things that Presley and Ridge wanted.
Presley could not wait to see and tell him what she wanted which was a microphone and guitar.  Ridge on the other hand could of been fine without seeing Santa as you can see in the picture.  The kids had a ton of fun we were glad we were able to be a part of it.

Cake SMASH!!

We held off on having Ridges 1st Party until we came home for the holiday and all the family would be close.  Mom decided to keep it simple and have an ice cream sundae bar and cup cakes.  Ridge got his first taste of ice cream an oreos and let's just say he didn't hate them.  This boy loves food or any one that is eating food.  He was surrounded by Aunts, Uncles, Great Aunts, Grandmas, Grandpas, and Great Grandmas and Grandpa.
You never quite got the hang of opening your presents, that's where your sister came in handy.  She loved that she was able to help you open them.  Once they were opened you knew just what to do.  You got lots of trucks which you loved, a ball that talked and made funny noises, clothes, shoes, and books.  Lots of good stuff for one very loved little boy.
You got to SMASH your cake and you didn't let your mommy down.  Your sister barely touched hers cried and then was done.  You dug into your with your hands and feet would take a little taste and then look up at everyone and grin like look what I am getting away with.  Ridge I know you had a great birthday surrounded by the people that love you.  Mom is so happy you came to bless our lives, we love you and can't wait to see what the next year will bring.
 First taste of OREO's

 Just LOVE this face.

Thanksgiving

I didn't manage to get a picture of the big meal, but we had Thanksgiving at my parents house this year.  My mom just had her kitchen completely gutted and remodeled and it is so gorgeous  it was well worth all their hard work and troubles.  We had the entire family including Grandma and Grandpa Schaugaard all together.  We had a great meal, Thanksgiving always kills me you spend so much time making all the food and everybody eats it in 15 minutes or less.  I know there is more to the holiday than this and I have so much to be thankful for, but it just makes me laugh.  The kids enjoyed the nice weather and leaves it was fun to play in and help Grandpa clean them up.  Presley always loves to play with Gram and Gramps ducks.  The day after thanksgiving we also had a little girls craft day.  We made cute nativity plaques that we each brought a portion to make it and then put them together.  They all turned out cute.  It's always good to spend time with the ones I LOVE, the most important people in my life, and the reason I am Thankful!
